Obstacle Detection and Communication

The iSee One sensor system detects obstacles up to 4 meters away, allowing the user to react in a timely and safe manner.
The device not only signals the presence of an obstacle but also provides additional details such as the position, distance, and size of the object.
For instance, while walking along a crowded sidewalk, iSee One can alert the user to a bicycle 3 meters ahead, describing its position using clock-face orientation—for example, at “11 o’clock” or “2 o’clock”— to indicate its precise location relative to the user’s path.

Obstacle
Description

For safer navigation, iSee One provides precise details on the dimensions of obstacles, helping users understand both where an obstacle begins and ends. This allows them to avoid not only the point of contact but also the entire obstacle, maintaining a safe radius around it. Such information is especially valuable in crowded urban spaces, enabling smoother and more comfortable navigation by allowing users to steer clear of obstacles entirely.

Customizable Audio
Feedback

iSee One uses a clear, customizable audio feedback system that delivers information without covering ambient sounds. Users can choose between vocal feedback or acoustic signals based on their preferences. Vocal feedback provides detailed descriptions of obstacle presence and position, while acoustic signals offer a more discreet and less intrusive option, allowing the user to stay attentive to surrounding sounds.

Real-Time Updates

iSee One maintains a continuous, real-time feedback loop, updating the user on obstacles as they approach or recede. For example, in a busy pedestrian zone, the device constantly updates the distance of each detected object, helping the user adjust their movement direction and avoid sudden changes.

Operating Modes

iSee One offers three distinct modes to accommodate varying user needs:

In this mode, iSee One operates as a pure obstacledetection tool, using its full range of sensors to detect and communicate environmental information to the user.

This mode provides all features of Mode 1, plus incoming notifications from the connected smartphone. Users can follow navigation directions, receive message alerts, or access other phone notifications seamlessly while receiving real-time obstacle information.

In this mode, iSee One becomes an audio playback device, allowing users to listen to content from their smartphone, interact with voice assistants, and access the built-in microphone on the device for hands-free functionality.
